Hi, my name is John Saxon.

I am a Doctoral Researcher and Teaching Assistant for the School of Computer Science at the University of Birmingham. Prior to this I obtained an MSc in Computer Security from the school as well a BSc in Software Engineering from De Montfort University.

Below is essentially a miniature CV containing my teaching, work experience, education and contact details.
It is somewhat incomplete as far as education is concerned.

Within this role, I worked with C to maintain and develop bespoke clinical trial applications.

Additionally, I was part of an R&D team aiming to provide a web based CTMS.

Research topics such as:

  • SOA - How we could integrate legacy and third party systems.
  • Cloud Computing - How a private cloud would benefit the company.
  • Language Frameworks - PHP (Zend), JavaScript (jQuery), Java (Spring).
  • Security - How to provide these services whilst protecting sponsors' data.

Web Developer Aug. 2007 - Aug. 2009

During my time here, I mainly developed web systems for managing business processes.

My main project here was to develop a booking system for their apartment block.

All projects required a good level of web security, this is where my interest in the subject began.
